Our Services

We specialize in disease management by combining alternative and conventional medicines to minister to a variety of conditions including Acute and Chronic Fatigue, Hormonal Imbalance, Adrenal Function Challenges, Endocrine Dysfunction, Thyroid Disease, Digestive Disorders, Weight Management and more.

Adrenals and Chronic Fatigue

Are you so tired that you can barely get up in the morning? Does your energy diminish by afternoon? Do you rely on coffee or “energy drinks” to get through the day? We assess the type and level of your fatigue by saliva testing to properly determine what supplement will improve your condition quickly and effectively.

Female and Male Hormone Balancing

Men and women at various stages of life have changing hormone levels that can impact their mood, mental focus and energy level. We assess your hormonal status by first listening to your symptoms, and then using saliva testing before prescribing bio-identical hormones, herbal supplements or nutritional remedies to keep you functioning at your best.

Thyroid Support

Are you tired, losing your hair and can't lose weight? Has your thyroid been minimally tested, but you have been told it is “normal”? We assess the function of the thyroid much more deeply to uncover the real status of your thyroid and the impact it is having on your body's functions.

Nutritional and Diet Counseling

Are your nutritional needs being met? How would you know? Through blood testing and physical examination, we can identify nutritional deficiencies which cause a multitude of symptoms from fatigue to irritability. You will obtain a personalized nutritional program, including the appropriate supplemental nutrients, to correct deficiencies or imbalances you may be suffering from.

Weight Management

Are you finding it difficult to lose weight? We offer diet programs to suit your specific weight loss needs. What is different about our programs is that you are guided and supported by a real physician on a weekly basis while you work towards your goal weight.

Digestion: Gastro-intestinal Rejuvenation

Many conditions, such as auto-immune disease, allergies, heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, gas and bloating, are caused by the deterioration of gastro-intestinal health. We assess the GI system by listening to your symptoms and employing saliva and blood testing before formulating the appropriate remedies to improve your digestive issues.

Allergies and Auto-Immune Disease

Normally, your immune system produces antibodies to fend off a host of invasive diseases. But sometimes these same antibodies attack the normal tissue of the body resulting in the inflammation and pain of auto-immune disease. If you have allergies, this same mechanism reacts to an allergen, thus inflaming your skin, sinuses, airways or digestive system.

Through careful evaluation of your lifestyle, living environment and diet, we can assess potential allergens and offer relief to common allergies through strategic dietary modifications. We may also recommend dietary natural supplements or environmental changes that can greatly reduce your symptoms.

Depression and Anxiety: Neurotransmitter Re-Balancing

Optimal neurotransmitter and hormone balance are important to physical, mental and emotional healing and well-being. If you are concerned about your reliance on pharmaceutical medications and their uncomfortable side effects to manage depression or anxiety, our program can aid in the increase and correction of the ratio of neurotransmitters in your brain while slowly reducing any medications you may be currently taking.

Chronic Pain and Fibromyalgia

Have you been diagnosed and treated for fibromyalgia, but still have little or no relief of symptoms? We will assess and define what treatments are working and what treatments have failed and make suggestions to more effectively decrease and manage your pain, while increasing your energy.

Cleansing and Detoxification

The accumulation of toxins in our bodies and minds often become an obstacle to healing and well being. Toxins can be food, chemicals or other substances that promote inflammation in your body. We can assess your toxic burden with blood and saliva testing, and, based on the results, prescribe gentle, yet effective programs to clear or reduce toxins from your body's various systems.

Supplements

We carry a full range of naturopathic remedies, supplements and potencies. For our established patients, you may re-order your nutritional supplements by emailing us below.

Our Approach

“Vis mediatrix naturae”...
nature is the healer of all diseases

Naturopathic doctors (NMDs) are primary care physicians clinically trained in natural therapeutics. Our philosophy is derived in part from a Hippocratic teaching more than 2000 years old: “Vis mediatrix naturae” — nature is the healer of all diseases. Naturopathic physicians combine the wisdom of nature with the principals of modern science. Steeped in traditional healing methods, principles and practices, naturopathic medicine focuses on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and condition management. By using protocols that minimize the risk of harm, naturopathic physicians help facilitate the body's inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal health, naturally. It is the naturopathic physician's role to identify and remove barriers to good health by helping to create a balance of internal and external factors.

Naturopathic medical philosophy has six unique tenets:

1 - THE HEALING POWER OF NATURE

NMDs recognize the inherent ability of the body to heal itself. It is the role of the naturopathic physician to identify and remove obstacles toward healing and recovery, and to facilitate and enhance this self-healing process.

2 - IDENTIFY AND TREAT THE CAUSES

Naturopathic physicians seek to remove the underlying causes of disease rather than simply eliminating or suppressing symptoms.

3 - FIRST DO NO HARM

NMDs strive to use methods that minimize harmful side effects (with the least force necessary to diagnose and approach a condition), prevent suppression of symptoms and respect each individual's self-healing process.

4 - DOCTOR AS TEACHER

The primary role of the naturopath is to educate and encourage individuals to take responsibility for their own health. NMDs also recognize the therapeutic potential of the doctor/patient relationship.

5 - TREAT THE WHOLE PERSON

NMDs recognize that total health includes physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, spiritual and other factors.

6 - PREVENTION

Naturopathic physicians encourage and emphasize disease prevention; e.g., assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, then make appropriate interventions in partnership with patients to prevent illness. This approach stresses health promotion and working with the body's innate healing mechanisms to manage the disease process. Equally important, naturopathy encourages people to take an active role in their own healthcare. We provide the opportunity for our patients to find real answers to their health concerns and restore the body to balance and health. We work with the body's innate healing mechanisms to manage disease and through education and coaching from our staff, the patient will feel inspired to take an active role in their own healthcare using science-based, natural methods.

What to Expect

LifeRoot Natural Medical Center tailors care plans to the individual, establishing a dynamic relationship with each patient. Since every patient is unique, so is his or her journey towards optimal health. Our goal is not only to help you improve your immediate health, but to also assist in reducing the risk of future illnesses, establishing the groundwork for a less complicated, less painful and less costly life ahead. Preventive healthcare visits are a valuable way for our staff to stay current with new developments in your health and to minimize the potential for future diseases. After your initial 30-minute consultation, we will be able to determine if our services are an optimal fit for your healthcare needs. Upon scheduling your first appointment, you will receive a detailed health questionnaire that asks about various facets of your overall health and lifestyle. The questionnaire is an important tool for both you and your naturopathic doctor. It enables us to learn about the factors affecting your total health. The first office visit lasts about 1 hour, and follow-up visits are between 30-45 minutes. By this time, you will have filled out a detailed heath questionnaire that will tell us about various facets of your health, concerns and lifestyle. This enables us to learn about all factors affecting your total health so we can create a care plan that is tailored just for you — our patient.

Once your questionnaire is complete, we break down your care plan into three basic steps:

1 - IDENTIFY

This is during your initial visit when we will investigate your total health history and review your questionnaire so we can learn everything we can about YOU! Appropriate laboratory testing will be scheduled at this time, if necessary. From here, your healing process will begin!

2 - ASSESS

This visit commonly begins with a physical exam, followed by a review of findings from your lab testing and initial visit. A personal care plan will be discussed, including what to expect as you heal.

3 - PREVENT

In about 2 to 6 weeks, a follow up visit is necessary to ensure your health is improving as expected. Modifications to your care plan may occur at this time. Future appointments will be scheduled depending upon your progress towards your health and specific needs.
